Spanish Placement Test

I haven't decided about Spanish yet either.

I'd have to take it in the fall. I guess if I don't have to take chem then I'll have a free class to sign up for, but if I do, math, physics, chem, and a freshman seminar might be all I can deal with in one semester.

Can you take the placement test and not sign up for it later?

Yes. It's not like an automatic sign-up. You basically create a record of what level you placed into (they also send you an email with the results) and then when you sign up for your courses the record allows you to go into that level, but if you never end up signing up for the class, then it doesn't matter.

is there a deadline for it? Maybe I should take it just in case. Hm.

Yes, I think the deadline is actually August 15!

whew, thank goodness you asked rachel :p (and that zante replied so fast: ).). It's only an hour long! nobody panic!

Yea I totally rushed through it in half an hour bc I was afraid people would notice since I was at work (I'm sure they did notice anyway...)

you dont need to take the placement test if you did well (800) on the spanish SAT II right? Or will Princeton eventually make you take the test before you graduate?

No... if you did well on the SAT 2, then you don't have to take the placement test.

i tested into 108...i'm not sure whether to be dissapointed or happy.

hmm ... given the choice, I'd say "be happy".

yes, 1 semester of spanish is better than 2.

haha, i ditto armavirumque. how nice that you have the choice : )!
