I will be taking the Spanish Subject Test in December and would like to know, which prep book(s) are the best for Spanish? For those of you who took the test and did well, which books would you recommend?

Anyone???

I used the Barrons book, and an old one at that (I believe it was the 2006 version) to study for the October SAT II, non-listening. The practice tests in there (there are 8 non-listening I think) are exactly like the real test and helped tremendously. There are also extensive grammar reviews that cover EVERYTHING.
Disclaimer - I don’t know what I got on the test though, so you might want to wait for a little over 2 weeks for me to get my score and tell you how effective the book was. Also, if you’ve taken AP Spanish Language, the reading comprehension is child’s play compared to the AP test.

Thank you for your input! Yeah, I am taking AP Spanish Language right now, so I have not taken the AP test, but eight accurate practice tests seems great! Thanks!

If you’re taking AP Spanish Language and you take the SAT II test right AFTER the AP test (assuming you’ve developed your skills enough to get a 5 on the test) the SAT II will be so much easier. I was in top shape right after the AP test, but I made the dumb choice of waiting the whole summer and a couple of months until I took the SAT II, which made it a lot harder than it should have been… So timing it right will help you a lot! You’re welcome, and best of luck.
