<p>I'm going to talk to my parents about studying abroad in Argentina for a year, but assuming that one doesn't go over well I would at least like to have options open like summer programs I could apply to.</p>
<p>I realize you could do a so called summer "immersion" program through groups like the AFS, but shelling out upwards of 4 grand for a month or two doesn't strike me as all that great.</p>
<p>Anyways next summer I'll have finished grade 10.</p>
<p>If you know of any Spanish Language study programs through a university or organization please tell me!</p>

<p>I did it last year and liked it a lot (host family + spanish classes + community service). It may not be what you’re looking for though.</p>

<p>The above poster’s have great suggestions, but I would really encourage you to try for a year program. I’m considering applying to Rotary’s year abroad program for the 2010-2011 school year, and its supposed to be an amaaazing experience! plus, its basically free. For my district, the outbound fee is only about $1500. If you aren’t able to convince your parents about the year abroad, you can also look into rotary’s summer programs, which are also very inexpensive. Usuallly, for the summer programs, you spend a month in another country with a host family, then return to the US and host an exchange student for a month (its called a reciprocal exchange).
