Spanish SAT II vs. AP

So I am going into my junior year of college, and I am trying to get as much of the foreign language requirement out of the way as I possibly can. In order to exempt out of the four semester foreign language requirement, one must get either a 3 on the AP or a 560 on the SAT II.

I have two questions: (1) Which one of these scores will be easier to get? (2) If I take 2 semesters of Spanish this summer at a local college, will it be realistic for me to be able to get one of these scores?

I took a year and a half of spanish in high school, but after taking the online placement test for my college I can see that I remember very little of it.

Are you, by any chance, applying to a Cal State? I need to meet the same requirement also.

No, I’m going into my Junior year at Boston University

unfortunately, although im not sure, i dont think 2 semesters of college spanish will be enough. If I’m not mistaken, AP spanish is equivalent to 5 or 6 semesters of college spanish.

However if I’m wrong i’d definitely go for the 560 on the sat ii. My ap spanish teacher said the sat ii was easier, and just in general i would think that a 560 on a subject test would be easier than a 3 on an ap. Also, as you may already know, the ap is a much more painful test since its much longer and isn’t just a fill in the bubble test. Especially the dreaded speaking section, which involves participating in a simulated conversation, and the horrible presentation of a 2 minute formal arguement on a topic after reading and listening to a source and having only 2 minutes of prep, should be enough to steer anybody towards the sat ii
