I first want to clarify something. You can take as many subject tests as you want and only report the required amount of subject tests correct?

I am a non-native spanish speaker. I received a 5 on the Ap spanish language exam. I am very good at spanish and am proficient. I will take the Spanish SAT II. I still don't know, however, whether I should also take the Listening Spanish Exam. Could someone who has taken them tell me the differences about both of the tests? I am aiming for HYPS so I am looking for a 750-800 score. Will the listening test look better on app than the regular spanish one? What books are good for both SAT IIs? Should I take both or just one? Because of my AP 5(I also had a 100 in the AP course), would that probably mean that I would get 700+? I also plan on taking USH and chem if anyone wants to suggest any books or advice for that.

The good books: College Board ones, as you will have access to “true” tests. If you want to hear how it sounds like, again, College Board web site about SATs has some examples. Listening will “look” better, as it shows that you do not have only a “book” knowledge of the language, but that you have somewhat trained, either by listening to whatever media or talking with people. But again, its for you to gauge: if you are sure to ace it without listening, go for it without listening and get a 800, instead of trying to make it more “difficult” and ending up with a 700. They won’t gauge how much it is a personal challenge for you to take whichever test.

For example, I’ve been told, by both Yale and Princeton, that, even if French is my mother tongue, I should take French as SAT II and ace it. An advantage to being international, if there is one! :P
