Sparknotes for APUSH

Has anyone used it...I just bought the powerpack from Barnes and Noble, and it seems pretty good. Comes with review charts, flashcards, and two practice tests. So what do you guys think of it. Was is a good study guide? Was the difficulty almost equivalent to the test? Opinions would be much appreciated....Thanks

I have it also, and I'm using AMSCO also....and self-studying, but to be honest, I feel that the Sparknotes will only be helpful as a review guide.

Sorry to hijack this thread but can someone explain what the gold standard, silver coinage are and basically what that had to do with Populism. It talks about the Sherman Silver Purchase Act and the McKinley Tariff in the REA book but I have no idea what they are saying. Its around pages 116-117 in the REA book.

Gold Standard: problems basically arose after CW b.c farmers were deeply in debt. Therefore they wanted to pay back their debts in silver, thus silver coinage. Gold-backed money is typically more stable, therefore favored by the creditors who loaned the farmers that $$. The Sherman Silver Purchase Act just basically said the US govt must purchase a certain amnt of Ag to coin monthly. It was an effort to appease the farmers. This relates to Populist party = alliance bw Farmers' Alliances ( gps of small farmers trying to fight big ind competition). Populism grew as farmers tried to raise crop prices and thereby paying back debts.

I hope that helped...really condensed it =)

Now back to the original topic at hand....
Damn, how hard is it to make your own thread

i bought just the cards and i think theyve helped me so much.
good investment
