Hey guys. This is my 1st post since my registration. I'm takin the SAT II (MATH I,MATH II and PHYSICS) by november 7. SparkNotes has been my only source of reading material. I'm realy acing the test(as in getn 800). Wat do u tink would be my score on the real test?I cant get any other material from the region i'm residing in(Nigeria). Pls i need replys
THANKS

If you’re getting 800 on the Math II tests at sparknotes then you have a pretty good chance of getting an 800 on the real thing. I got like 750 on the sparknotes tests and I got an 800.

thanks man 4d reply…is it also rite to say that i can get a perfect score for the 3subjects

Nigeria!? That’s awesome! I lived in Lagos for a year.

If test material is a problem, have you considered ordering things online from Amazon and getting international shipping? (it’s too late for the November test now, but it’s a good option if you need to take it again).

The Math 2 test shouldn’t be anything to worry about; but from my experience the SparkNotes tests aren’t very good (i.e. sometimes unreasonably difficult/plain weird/just wrong) I didn’t use SparkNotes much, but I did get an 800 in Math 2. (I didn’t take Math 1 or Physics; I took World and Chem - and for World, especially, SparkNotes was not a good indicator - I did much better than I thought I would have [800])

So yes, you’re probably on your way to 750-800s. Good luck!

international shipping to Nigeria would be too expensive

am done wit the test. pretty much hopeful though. i guess sparknotes was kinda worthwhile.

math - left 1space black…pretty much sure of d rest
math ii - left 7 blanks and a wrong
physics - 11 blanks and about 4wrongs.

u guys scale my score

Math II is 770-800.

Well, to give you my own real experience of how SparkNotes tests compare to the actual collegeboard test:

1st SparkNotes test:
600
Open notes

2nd SparkNotes test:
580
Open notes

3rd SparkNotes test:
560
No notes

This was because I was not used to the time frame, and so I usually took 2-3 hours to do practice tests in collegeboard’s and princetonreview’s book. The only real chemistry knowledge I obtained was from reading princetonreview; everything regarding chemistry before then was a blur, because I learned it in 10th grade(12th grader now), and our teacher decided it’d be funny to teach his own sort of chemistry and not one standardized via the book. Plus, I lost all my chem notes prior to then.

3 days or so after my 3rd SparkNotes test, I got a 730 on chemistry SAT in oct of this year, and this was omitting most of the chemical balancing ones too.

I used sparknotes exclusively to study for the SAT II (Physics, Math II and Chemistry). First, I did a practice test for each without studying (got Math II: 800, Physics: 740 and Chemistry: 680). Then I read through everything on the Sparknotes website the day before the exam (spent ~ 10 hrs on Chemistry, 3 hours on Physics and ~15 minutes on Math).

I ended up with 800/800/800 (on the actual SAT II).

Of course, I have no way of knowing how much of that actually came from Sparknotes, but I’m pretty sure that it covers at least the majority of what you need to know (in many cases, it actually covers more; I didn’t have a single question on rotational motion in physics even though Sparknotes gave it an entire chapter, and there was only 1 very basic question on entropy with no calculation even though Sparknotes goes much deeper into the subject).
