<p>If I’m desperate, I’ll use Shmoop and Sparknotes.</p>
<p>Let’s put it this way: I’m definitely guilty of using sparknotes, especially now that I have a severe bout of senioritis:)</p>

<p>I use it when the book isn’t interesting or if I don’t understand something.</p>
<p>My college professor (with a PhD in medieval and renaissance studies from Yale) just discovered Sparknotes this past semester; she suggested we all take a long look at it, because it’s one of the best resources she’s found.</p>
<p>I use it before I read a book and read it to help me on an essay.</p>
<p>Summaries: very good for jogging your memory or when you need to write an essay on it or have a quiz on it…
Analysis: please do yourself a favor and ignore it.</p>
