Why is it that hamilton's board is so much more dead than other schools'? Speak up guys!

Hamilton is amazing.

^ ha ha I hope you were serious and not sarcastic, lol.

haha no i was serious… i actually think it’s the best NESCAC if you ask me.

Ok, here is something:

Hamilton’s admissions acceptance rate for the class of 2014 decreased to 29%

[2010 Admissions Tally - The Choice Blog - NYTimes.com](http://thechoice.blogs.nytimes.com/2010-admissions-tally/)

getting more selective there

the yield was 33% and it seems that 52 students were accepted from the waitlist

I agree that Hamilton is a terrific school, but when you say you think it’s the best NESCAC, in what area do you mean?

I’m glad you like Hamilton. whats NESCAC?

NESCAC = New England Small College Athletic Conference

I personally think it’s the best NESCAC because everything about it is just so amazing. The small classes, the beautiful campus, the emphasis on written and oral communication, and everything else that Hamilton has to offer always fascinates me.
Others may argue that it isn’t the best NESCAC and throw out names of other schools, but I’m just giving my opinion.
GO CONTINENTALS!

Does anyone happen to know what the ED acceptance rate is? And will being from the midwest help one’s chances any to Hamilton?

ED acceptance rate is somewhere around 40%, whereas regular admission is 27% or so (these might be off by a couple of percentage points). Being from the midwest may give you a bit of an edge over a similarly qualified applicant from, say, New England, but won’t necessarily make up for something like low SATs or GPA. But the school definitely prides itself on being diverse, and this includes admitting students from all over the U.S. (and world).
