Speak with difficulty...

I'm currently in AP Latin and have consistently gotten As in my Latin courses. I'm wondering whether I should even put that I "speak" Latin at all, considering I'm mostly writing it or translating--it's not a spoken language. If I do put it down, does it look bad to say I "speak it with difficulty" since I'm in AP? I don't exactly speak it comfortably... Latin is such that you have to not only conjugate verbs but also decline adjectives and nouns depending on what part of speech they are, so it's hard to just rattle off sentences in Latin off the top of one's head.

My daughter is in the same position. She put “speaks with difficulty” I dont think that anyone will question that. I think it is a realistic appraisal.

Man, it’s a dead language. Nobody’s gonna expect you to be fluent in it in high school. The fact that you can speak some is commendable in itself.
