Speaking of Weapons of Mass Destruction

Were any WMD found in IRAQ? im just wondering.

None. We went there to find them but no luck. Then Bush says it was for the good of the world to take out a dictator. I wonder. Why are we going into a war for the sake of others? We have enough troubles at home and the war is costing the taxpayers huge sums of money. Well, but I am neutral. I am neither democrat or republican because I agree on issues on both sides, except for the war.

No there were not and El Government happened to lie to the nation when they said there were WMDs.

Is this going to be another raging CC political debate?

People question why Bush went to war. Personally, I hate war. War is not a way to settle a conflict unless a coutnry is under attack. I understand going after the terrorist is necessary, but to invade? That is just ridiculous to trick the people to believe there was weapons of mass destruction. Like 1337noh4k4, we have enough problems right now in United States and right now isn't a time to fight wars after wars. Yea reXrun467, there are no WMD. It is a fact people in the world are more scared of America than any other country.

Well considering Iraq had used weapons of mass distruction in the past (not against the US mind you) I guess there was a good reason to believe that they did exist. However it sure does appear (and I'm very republican) that Saddam did in fact clean up. However I also agree that it was not really a terrible thing that he was taking out of power, I don't think many people would really argue that he was a good man to have ruling a nation.

i agree with allena. Although WMD weren't found in Iraq, it doesn't mean they were never there. I also think the government didn't necessarily lie either. no one really knew if WMD were there or not, but were you going to take a chance of them being there with a leader who massacred his own people?

theasianbum-I hate war too. But there's a point where negotioating isn't going to work anymore. A lot more was going on before the media hyped everything up; there was a lot of non-war political battles going on between the U.S. and Saddam/Iraq . When war finally was the answer, the media caught ahold of it and made it looked like it was a spur-of-the-moment thing. One more thing-> I don't think I know of a period of time in American history that we didn't have a lot of problems going on.

Just my two-cents :)

Theasianbum- I have to disagree with you. War is a necessary evil in the world. I don't think anybody likes it, however at times it is something that must be done. While I agree that diplomacy is a better option then warfare, it can only get you so far.

Lily415- You're right, there always is something going on. However sometimes are better then others. Right now the US is dealing with a new problem (terrorism on a mass scale) that was not as serious in the past. However I firmly believe that in the future it'll just be another chapter in the history of this country. I promise you all that 50 years from now, the US will be dealing with a new problem and people will be talking about how the world used to be such a peaceful place, and how everything has changed so quickly. People like to forget the past!
