You have probably never heard of such an extreme case as with me.
Im applying to UC and wondering about my chances. I have a 3.6 unweighted GPA, 3.7 weighted and by the end of this semester you can probably make it 3.65 unweighted and 3.75 weighted. By sat scores are low especially since english is a second language for me. 550 reading, 600 writing and 640 math for a total of 1790, and i am about to take SAT II"s and i am realistically expected a score of 1400 total from 2 subjects. HERE IS THE COMPLICATION: I got a 2.0 GPA first semester of sophomore year because it was a tragic time in my family my dad had a tragic spinal cord injury. Thankfully i was about to retake my 2 D's (though my C's and B's still remain). BECAUSE OF MY TRIUMPH following that semester I got a Student of Promise award a very special reward for only 2 people per school who overcome the toughest obstacles. Hopefully that award redeems my bad grades especially since i worked helluvalot to retake my classees and followup since then with WAY better grades.
