Special Case For UCLA and UCSD. What are my chances?

^^^people are posting stats about something they obviously know nothing about. The posters GPA is approx average for in state acceptances for UCLA and UCSD. His SAT's are also lower than the in state average into UCSD and UCLA. So how on earth when the poster is applying to these UC's out of state, which is much more difficult to gain admission into, would UCSD be a safety and UCLA a match when in state UCSD would be a match-slight reach and UCLA a slight reach-reach. Dont give bogus chances to the poster on things you know nothing about. That is not fair to him. Those are odds you gave, anarkii, are so far off its not even funny. The illness stated in the letter will deffiantly help the posters odds, but deff not enough to call these schools matches oos let alone safeties. That is hillarious. Just look at the in average admits for these two schools. 4.04 GPA, 1940 SAT at UCSD. 4.12 GPA, 2010 SAT at UCLA. 99% of freshmen in the top 10% of high school class at UCSD, and 97% of high school class in top 10% of UCLA. And remember, most of these admits were in state (over 95%), oos is significantly more difficult to gain admissions too. Which meens applying oos you would need even better stats than the ones listed above to likely get admission to these schools. I hate when people post bogus chances when they obviosuly know nothing about the schools or their admissions averages. Guessing on something you know nothing about is not exactly helpfull to the poster.

UCSD: http://universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/undergrad_adm/selecting/camp_profiles/camp_profiles_ucsd.html

UCLA: http://universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/undergrad_adm/selecting/camp_profiles/camp_profiles_ucla.html

These are almost all in state averages. OOS would be significantly harder with much higher averages.

UCSD: Slight Reach (oos)
UCLA: Reach (oos)
