Special Circumstances Essay

Hi,
I was wondering how the special circumstances essay is supposed to be structured. Do I need to write it like the general commonapp essay, or just be straightforward about it? My interest is in writing about how having a learning disorder has affected my education.

However, I'm also an IB student and I want to be able to list my english/history IA's and EE as evidence of my ability to do college research. Can I write about both the special circumstance and the qualifications? Or should I just stick to one--and if so, which?

On some school’s supplements they allow you to attach some of your work. I know Harvard allows this (at least from last years app.).
Use your common app essay to write about who you are, not what you’ve done. (You could use an example of what you’ve done and what it shows about you).
Good Luck.
