<p>Hey y'all I'm a prospective international student who is considering applying to Stanford University next year, and I have a pretty complicated question regarding financial aid at Stanford. so basically, I am likely to not apply for financial aid when I'm applying for admission, as my family feels like we have sufficiently enough to cover most of the costs. However, if I do attend Stanford in the future and my official status in the U.S. changes to that of a permanent resident of U.S. during my four years (which according to its website is considered the same as U.S. citizen for fin aid purposes), would I still be able to apply for any possible federal and institutional financial aid during the remainder of my time there? This is pretty big for me as fin aid is a pretty big factor in international admissions for stanford, and we won't be likely to get permanent residence status for around 2-3 years.
