So I got an e-mail from Brandeis allowing me to use the online Brandeis application. There is no fee, I’d have a decision by February 15, and it is personalized to save time.

My concern is that it is supposed to save me time.

I had planned on applying to Brandeis as a match school anyways, so I don’t want them to think that I was just doing the online app for the heck of it, as I know many people do.

Online Brandeis app. It really doesn't take that much more time; I filled out the regular application online and it didn't take me more than 15 minutes (just copy and paste your essay.)

The admissions office really doesn't care which application you submit. Save yourself some money. :P

i almost sounds as if you suspect that they are offering this "easier" application to trap students who they will then identify as not really interested since they use the "easy" application. now does that really make sense to you? that they'd invite you to use it and then take your use of it as evidence you aren't really interested in them?

in the past many people have assumed that being offered a special application was some indication that they were more likely to be accepted -- which you shouldn't conclude either. i have to say it was interesting to see you draw the exact opposite conclusion! :)
