<p>So I'm not sure what to do for this part of the application- it's asking me about special skills and I don't know if I should list anything or not. I could talk about a musical talent that I've been working on on my own, but I haven't done any competitions or anything and I'm not amazing, but it's the main thing I could think of that's not highlighted in my app. Should I leave this is, try to think of something different, or is it ok to leave this section blank? I just don't really understand what they want :(</p>
<p>I came on here to ask the same question. It it something that probably shouldn’t be complicated but just winds up confusing the hell out of us.</p>
<p>I talked about how I really like languages. I’ve taught myself the basics of Korean and the Cyrillic alphabet while studying Spanish at school and really loving English vocabulary. I decided it was a special skill and my counselor agreed.</p>
<p>are we supposed to write it in sentences or just list stuff? i just listed like “languages, violin, tennis, etc”</p>

<p>This section is a golden opportunity for you to let your personality shine through for the ADCOM. You may not think you have “special” skills or talents but don’t underestimate yourself or over think this portion of the application but rather have some fun with it. </p>

<p>UGGH I definitely have some strange, funny, but true talents to put down, but I don’t know if I should do it (or attempt to do it) in an intelligent-sounding paragraph or just write “Some of my unique talents include…”</p>

I did not have any “special talent” so I wrote about my interest in languages and my passion for learning. Don’t worry about it too much. Not too many people have “special talents”.</p>

<p>I specifically spoke to the Admissions Officer about this question. I did not ask about it - HE BROUGHT IT UP.</p>
<p>He said, “Read the questions and answer the questions asked: for example we ask if you have any special talents - some applicants leave this blank. Why anyone would pass up an opportunity to tell us a little something more about her is beyond me. It does not go over well.”</p>
<p>OMG! He raised this very issue. Just write two or three sentences about yourself - some little thing that makes you unique.</p>
<p>Ask friends and family to each give you two examples of a trait or characteristic that is so you. Pick one and write about it briefly.</p>
