Specialized High School

How would going to a specialized high school, such as this one, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Academy_of_Allied_Health_and_Science, affect one's chances in getting into a top notch university?

There are positives and negatives. You are first and foremost compared by colleges to kids from your school. So if 12 of you are applying to MIT, they'll probably take the best 3. However, if it's hard to get into your school and it has a high average SAT (1300 plus old), many schools tht usually take only kids in the top 5 or 10% will let rank go lower for kids from such schools.
