I got an offer to work at NASA but my concern is that it is somewhat not related to my field of interest. I am interested in pursuing electromagnetics, and this is more of a signals and systems type project. Will graduate school admissions look down on me doing research in a different field from what I'm applying for? I also did a robotics project at UPenn last summer. I don't want to get stuck going down the wrong path. I have until 4:30 today to decide (I was given the offer about a half hour ago)... Also, I would have to take next semester off.

I can’t say whether graduate programs would look down on this, but if you think it’s an exciting opportunity, you should take it. Only you can weigh the pros and cons.
