Does anyone know if there is a specialty store such as a Korean market or health foods store with good produce/sushi walking distance or a short bus ride to USC?

There is a Ralphs on 645 West 9th Street, which is not too far from the Staples Center.

Ralphs is a good all-around grocery store. I mean are there any specialty grocery shops near USC?

Isn't USC near Koreatown? There is a map in this link.

The Ralph's on 9th is a Ralph's Fresh Fare. As such, it's a better health food store than the dreary little supplements shop in the UV. With a walk of a block or two on 9th, you can get to it via the Dash F for $0.50 round-trip. It has a lot of "specialty" produce, prepared food, and packaged food including vegetarian items.

There is a nice Korean supermarket in the basement of the Koreatown Galleria on the SE corner of Olympic and Western. That same mall has a nice Korean food court on the top floor. Unfortunately, the 550 turns west at Venice, so there is no one bus trip to Olympic and Western from USC, but you could take one of the *4 routes on Vermont to connect with one of the *28 routes on Olympic, but that's $5.00 round-trip.
