Hello! I've looked around the board for an answer to my questions, and I just can't seem to find one. And, being that you've all been so helpful in the past, I hope you can bear with me again!! Being that I have quite a few questions, I'll just list them below!

1) When creating your resume, is there a best way to generally format it? (i.e. 'production, role, director' versus 'role, production, theatre company' etc., if that makes any sense!)
2) Should I include the year/years of the shows?
3) As I'm only applying for acting, should I still include my voice type? Or perhaps include it in a smaller section, as under 'training' or something similar rather than among contact information/attributes?
4) Will colleges hate that the majority of my experience comes from high school theatre? Because in the theatre company section, it's mostly just the name of my high school over and over and over again. Should I even bother including it, or what?

Thank you all so much for putting up with my potentially stupid questions!

Generally you would list Production/ Role/ Theatre. If you list directors you can do so on a 4th column, or next to the production.

You do not need to list years.

Actors are also often asked to sing. You would list voice type at the top of your resume, under your name, along with the rest of your vital statistics.

For the most part in a college audition the resume is used for reference. No problem as a HS student (or recent HS grad) that all (or most) of your experience is in HS. Do still include it.

Chimerical, in addition to KatMT’s valuable advice, you might want to check out the guidelines admissions at her school, which includes a link for a clear, simple, theater resume format (scroll down for that link): [Theatre Admissions at JMU - James Madison University School of Theatre and Dance, Harrisonburg, Virginia](<a href=“The School of Theatre and Dance - JMU”>The School of Theatre and Dance - JMU). It’s a good starting place!

When I did my D’s resume, I just goggled something like “actor’s resume” and followed some of the samples there.
And yes, definitely include your singing voice info.

You also might want to list any other special talents, for example; languages spoken, dialects, juggling, instruments you might play…so forth and so on
