Specific transfer question, hope someone can help

hey, Im currently a student at Loyola University Chicago, and to be completely honest, i wasn't sure i wanted to attend Northwestern when left high-school. I went to a very selective high school in Brazil, and did fairly well. (no 4.0, but graduated around an 85%) Full IB student. I had a low ACT, which i recently retook and scored a 30. I actually have 2 questions that i seem no now find answers to.

1) My GPa at Loyola is a 3.54, Im pre-med, and unfortunately I dropped a class last semester. (kind of unfair, since my GPA went from 3.7 to 3.54 because a professor had given 1!!!! wrong point on a test,), but anyways, I wanted to know, how bad is a "W" for this specific transferring, and Even though I have a 3.54, I expect that with this semester my Cum GPA goes to 3.7-3.8. I wanted to know if they wait until your final semester grades arrive, or judge you based on only 1/2 your freshmen year (if you apply for softmore).

2) I also wanted to know if A) Interviews help, B) to what degree are high school grades seen at this point (I know that they are still looked at, until you have a number of credits)

Thankyou!!

i dont think northwestern offers interviews for transfers. highschool grades might matter if you are still a freshman but once you are a sophomore they dont matter really. act doesnt matter either i think cuz i had a 23 and got in as a transfer.

what about "w"s, how are they seen?

it looks worse than no "w". so talk to the prof, make up some excuse and maybe you won't have a w.

if you can't change it then don't worry about it.
