Specifics in "Why ________" Essays?

<p>How specific can you get in a "Why _____" essay without being weird?</p>

<p>For example, I want to apply to George Washington University to major in political science. I want to go there for their strong program, but also to work with a specific professor. I have never spoken with him, but have read one of his books. Would it be weird/creepy to mention him in my essay?</p>
