I am a basketcase. I just received a tiny letter from Rice (my ED school) and nearly had a heart attack thinking they were rejecting me ALREADY. It was just a letter about fin. aid, but it definitely prepared me (an eternal optimist) for rejection. I think I would have to be an optimist to apply to these schools!

Schools:

Rice (ED)
William and Mary
Georgetown
Brown (maybe)
Barnard (maybe)
Hamilton

True all schools look for geographical diversity, but if you are qualified you will get in. The student profile for Rice is 46% in-state, 54% out-of-state. I would be willing to bet that if you talk to someone in admissions they would tell you that quotas do not exists.

But this wouldn't matter for ED, would it? The yield is 100% no matter where you are from. Do you know if they accept OOS kids at a higher rate in ED or just ID and RD bball87?
