Speech and Debate team there

<p>So, I'm going to enter Berkeley for the fall 2010-2011 year and I'm interested in joining the speech and debate team at Berkeley but the information that I found was minimal at best. Can anyone answer some of my questions?</p>

<p>Is it pretty much focused only on debate? (the website seems to make it that way)
How am I supposed to apply?
What are the time commitments?
How strong is the Speech and Debate team?
How strong is the Speech program (particularly the interpretatives, which is what I'm most interested in)?
Any inside information that I should know?</p>

<p>The Berkeley debate team is a Policy Debate team.
The time-commitment parallels that of a full-time job.(30-50 hrs a week)
It is one of the best debate teams in the country.</p>
