oh crap! cardinal, are you saying that if one's no a full time student at CC, it will affect their chances of gettting in uc???? cuz right now, i only have 6 units! and only 3 units are transferrable. this is my first sem at csm btw.

I'm staying a 3rd year, and believe me, I made sure it was OK with UCLA that I do that. It won't affect your chances, but please make sure you made the most out of your 3 or more years at a CCC.

right now i am in my third year (5th semester) but after this semester i will have 64 units both igetc and pre-req done. I really dont want to go to school for the spring sem; will that affect me at all.
I also wnat to know if it will effect me if i only take 3 or so units next sem, (just for a fun gpa booster).

Yeah try obtaining some internship or work. Just do something.

I was in community college for three years it didn't affect me. I just transferred to UCLA this fall.

I'm talking about UCB too

Any UCB here?

no UCBs here. they all got rejected

The counselor from UCB said at a transfer info session that it is ok to take more then two years. What doesn't look good is when you are taking 1-2 classes a semester. They want to see that you actually challenged yourself.

OH?
do I get a gpa boost if I take 6 classes?!?!

LOL I wish but no a full schedule is expected

I do. It's my dream school!

Sweet maybe we'll have a class together. On second thought, the likelihood of that is quite strong. yay

What??? Weren't you going to UCB Cardinal?

lostincode:

From the responses i've read from the adcom, I can presume that taking 6 classes will give you a GPA boost. Not literally of course. The statement that I presumed from pretty much said that they will look at your GPA in light of the course load, having a job, EC's, and other factors.

Forget the question I asked Cardinal. lol.
