If any student have any input about how much money they spend slash would suggest per week. I am trying desperately to scrunge up as much money as possible, so what are you suggestions? I would hypothetically like to save money but also be able to be financially flexible, etc. Any input? What would be a good amount to have at the beginning of a semester?

(Obviously meal plan aside)

It definitely depends a lot on your own personal habits. With the mandatory unlimited meal plan (which I will be returning to next year), I find myself ordering food very rarely - both because I don’t really need to and because I don’t feel like spending money to order food when I’ve already paid for the meal plan. I do end up ordering probably an average of once or twice every two weeks, but occasionally more often.
Other than ordering food or going out to eat, which can cost you probably $10-$20, it’s nice to be able to go see a movie or something every few weeks, and also do some small amounts of shopping. If you’re not a big shopper, though, you can get away with very little spending, especially given the unlimited meal plan and the whole Hodgdon thing.
I’d say you should play it safe and allot around $20 or so of spending money for each week, but you’ll probably wind up spending less most weeks (although there will probably be special occasions when you’ll wind up spending more, so it may even out).

im banking on some scholarship money+whatever I can make over the summer (maybe 1k) and workstudy pay (1k a semester). If I could, id obviously not like to live frugally but with study abroad/general travelplans for the future, a penny saved is a penny earned. boston is an expensive city after all (coming from a small rural town)
