I had to buy my tickets 3 days in advance to get a seat in the IMAX. It was so worth it. This was by far the best spiderman movie. It was much funnier and had more action at the same time.

Er...try taking this to another board. This has nothing to do with college admissions.

i dont know, im kind of enjoying his post

we need a little lightheartedness in such a serious environment.

It was a really good movie...though it would have been cooler if it was 3D

This probably belongs in the cafe...

I enjoyed it. But I thought the acting was a joke and the plot was just as insubstantial as it always is. Nevertheless, it was a fun watch and much better than the other ones.

I liked it a lot. Most of my friends are elitist comic book jerks though, and they decided that because ... yeah...

I can't say or else I'll spoil it!

How would "Saving the World 15 hr/w for 52 weeks" EC fare in college admissions?

^Do you have EC's besides that? How have you been a leader in that EC? Do you have an international or intergalactic awards? All I see is a vapid activity that doesn't convey any real passion.

I think it would look nice on a college app. but he only saves downtown new york city not the world :-)

omgz0r lying about EC's. instant rejection.

I thought it was total crap.

(maybe MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD)

Some scenes were completely unnecessary. There were good action sequences, but I felt that the whole movie took itself too seriously, and it had a hokey "With great power comes great responsibility" undertone. I'd expect this from a spiderman movie, but it's too much when you have like 1/2 hour of emo parker and he cries at the end. I loved Spidey2 more than this installment, but YMMV (and it sounds like it did.)

Yeah, what was up with emo spiderman? All the girls were like What the hell are you doing moron when he walked around and pointed at people. That was basically my impression of this entire film. It was basically retarted. I think seeing it in IMAX made the action scenes to chaotic and I couldn't follow what was happening with the camera jiggling around so much. They should have stopped at 2. It was the worst letdown of a trilogy since Return of the Jedi.

spoilers -

i think that whole portion of the movie was just sam raimi playing around. no seriously. that, and the whole dance sequence, were totally unnecessary.

@sidjenks: I heard if you reverse the soundtrack of the scene, you'll hear Raimi whisper 'You can't fire me' three times.

Hahahahahahahha, my thoughts exactly.

(MINOR SPOILER)

The way he felt that it was necessary to attempt the stupid looking emo haircut every time he wanted to be "bad" was a little foolish. Plus the way the women went from looking at him seductively in the streets to running away in disgust had to be the most pathetic ploy for humor I've ever seen. Too bad it worked on me.

(END SPOILER)

It sucked. Seriously. By the end of this crapfest I was so frustrated I just wanted Venom to bite everyone's face off. I didn't care about Peter or MJ or Harry anymore since they all turned into whiny losers. They should have ended the series with Venom gobbling the three leads up, kicking Flint Marko's pussy ass (waaah my daughter!) and giving us a movie surrounding Eddie and Venom's evil exploits. Cuz really, Venom just needs his own movie.

Venom + 10 minutes of screentime = wasted potential

I kinda found the movie a bit not-so-flowing....overall, a good movie to watch.

It Stunk!!! (!!!)

It was definitely a different Spiderman movie. My friend Jacklyn and I went to see it the day it came out...we ran into a girl we knew at the movie theater and she couldn't believe that we were watching a movie before SAT morning. Simply scandalous! :) Anyway, we lucked out with tickets b/c we didn't reserve them ahead of time or anything (and got there about 10 minutes before it started.)

Anyway...the end could potentially provide a foundation for Spiderman #4 -- please don't tell me that they're making another one!

The emo thing was odd, and sort of funny. Jacklyn and I agreed that Tobey Macguire probably need to work to keep a straight face while doing that strutting-down-the-street scene. Also, Tobey's friends must be giving him a hard time about the whole emo segment...that is like friend-joke ammo right there.
