Spirit Week

If you get the chance, ask a plebe about the joys of Spirit Week.

While visiting over Thanksgiving, our plebe son says that Spirit Week is both fun and grueling for plebes.

One tradition is that cadets place a spirit week "welcome mat" at their doorways with a number on it. Any plebe entering the room must do that number of pushups when entering and leaving. You can spot the plebe rooms with their #1 on the mats. Upperclass cadets go with double digits.

Laundry delivery can be a real killer since the assigned plebe must deliver it to each room on his floor and, accordingly, do bunches of pushups.

Go Army !!!!

Daughter said that she has already done 225 pushups today. So it hasn't been so bad.

She said the "mat thing" is just like the drop zones during Air Force week. They could be ignored while performing duties like delivering laundry. Sure hope so.

what are drop zones..............zones where an upperclassmen could drop you for push-ups at any time during air force week?

Haha sounds like fun, can't wait

See, it DOES kinda sound like fun.

Can't wait either.

That's exactly what a drop zone is. Sounds like it's all in fun and part of amazing school spirit. I have not heard that it is mean-spirited in any way.

yay... kids in charge of me. cant wait.

already have my number picked out
