Sports etc.

what are ur times...my individuals are the 100 fly n 200 IM, i also swim in the 200 medly relay, and either the 200 or 400 free relay.

I love fly!!! prob not to many people say that !!

~GINA

That's horrible... fly? Masochist much? Haha, I have low 26 in the 50, and I've been in high 25. My 100 free is horrible because I packed on some pounds and have never been in shape in my life (I'm working on that.) It's a 1:00-ish-1:03. You? Do you want to walk on also, or are you recruited?

Hehe, and I've just come up with a new training regimen for the arms... Captain Morgan.

Ha, in explanation of the previous post: I have no dumbbells in my house and can rarely make it to the gym... so a 1.75L bottle of the Cap'n makes up quite nicely.

Also, doing the dreaded arm circles to the beat of a good song is great fun... and painful.

nah im not being recruited from navy i would walk on; however I am being recruited by MMA. 27 for my 50 about 1:00 for 100.

Geesh, speed demon of La Butterfly.

Yeah, I was being recruited for them, too.

haha that was free.. i wish it was fly!!! my fly is about a 28 29 ish for a 50 and 1:10 for a 100 fly i can do a lot better then that 100 time tho if i worked harder, but i was concentrating on our medly relay and in my IM!

Haha, well then in that case I will help you off of your pedestal and remove you from my hero list. Haha, great times... it would be awesome if we both end up on the team.

yea that would be great!!! but i first need to get an appointment!!! Lots of people are worried about all the swimming but we will have that covered already!!!

Have you talked to the swim coach yet? Did you talk to them at NASS?!

Yeah, at the end at the big sports coach meet thingy... All he did was pretty much say that it would be difficult and take lots of time for practice... but it also comes highly recommended by Plebes who say it has a great many perks, like not eating meals with the Joes that will undoubtedly inhabit your squad.

Does anyone plan to walk onto the track team like I do??

I think lots of the earlier comments on this thread say as much.

Jen - if you haven't talked to the track coach yet, i'd email her soon. She's wicked nice, and she'll tell you everything about running there. i think her email is on the USNA website. if you PM me i can give you her number.

dbluecap sprint football max is 150...I wouldn't advise you losing that much weight.

boston usmc- do you know what average times are for the team?? I was talking with her for awhile after NASS, then all of a sudden she just stop corresponding with me, she is wicked nice though I might drop her an e-mail maybe

it really varies for each event. it is pretty competitive, but i've been told that if you have the desire and commitment and at least some ability, they will work with you and try to get you up to D1 performance level. i wasn't sure if i'd be fast enough when i first looked into it, but now i'm pretty optimistic (my race isn't very common, either, which helps me). what are you planning on running?

What is your event Boston?

in high school it's the 300m hurdles, which would become the 400m hurdles in college. not a lot of people in my league in high school run it, and the USNA team has told me it's not as popular as other races; therefore i could be an asset to the team in that race. it's pretty funny that i run such short races now, (im even running 55m hurdles in indoor), because i used to be a full-out distance runner, with the mile and 2 mile. i still run mid-distance in addition to the hurdles, usually the 600m or 1000m, and i throw javelin, but the 300m hurdles is by FAR my favorite! soooooo much fun!

1:06.95 was one of the girl's best 400 hurdles times last year for a comparison purpose.
