I was just wondering if students are able to buy tickets to basketball and football games. When I was on the campus tour, I heard that you can buy a season pass for football, but not for men's basketball.

Is it impossible for students to get tickets to a few basketball games?

You can buy individual tickets to basketball games, provided that the are not sold out.

basketball season tickets for students are on a lottery basis. if you get the basketball season tickets, the football will come with it.

You can buy individual tickets but you're not going to sit in the student section.

Just found out I got bball tickets for next year :)

I thought they didn't tell you if you got tickets for next year until July/August?

I'm confused: You said, "if you get bball student tix, the fball will come with it." But bball is also on a lottery basis. Also, I thought with the lottery system you only got bball tix for single games, not for a whole year. Ahh confused!!! can someone explain that lol? thanks :)

also, when do fball/bball tix go on sale for freshmen?

They've already been on sale, I'm not sure if they've done the second round of drawings for season passes, but I've gotten my basketball plan already. If you don't get a season pass for basketball, you can buy individual tickets. Football season passes are easily gotten though, but you have to buy both football+basketball to get basketball tickets. If you have a season pass for basketball you have the option to camp out the night before games to grab priority passes (which will get you the floor seats where you see the student section on TV).

UCLA Bruins - Tickets

It says July 15th, but I'd just buy it now to be safe. (and just shoot for Blue and Gold plan since the cost of the extra games is negligible for what it's worth). Sitting front row = priceless.. I mean, I had better seats than Denzel Washington =P.

lottery is NOT for single tickets, it is for SEASON tickets. If you were to get picked for basketball SEASON tickets, then it comes with football season tickets.

basketball tickets for individual games go on sale on an hour prior to the event, if there are any left.

k, so if i buy the blue and gold plan (best one?) by the end of this week, i'll be guaranteed all home football games including USC, and i'll be entered into a lottery for basketball tix?

if i win the lottery or w/e, is that for the whole season? when do you find out if you've won the lottery?

Lastly, someone said if you don't get the lottery you can buy single game tix or season tix....but that's just for general admission, NOT the student section, correct?

THANK YOU!!!

quick sidenote, i've heard that once you get picked you automatically get basketball tickets for the rest of the years, is this true? I just got picked for the blue plan next year...

No, I'm pretty ****ed about that actually. I had B&G last year, and now I have just Gold. They switched to having it be 2 drawings for everybody and no rollovers, with 1 extra one for people who already had it. You get to pick a 2nd choice plan (so if you don't get blue and gold). Otherwise, if you don't get bball tickets, you can choose just to get football or not. As per basketball individual tickets, you can wait outside the pauley ticket office a few hours before game time to grab student tix (upper deck), space permitting, or you can buy regular tickets (upper deck usually $35 or so).

So I signed up for the lottery today from myUCLA. When do you think I will know if I got Blue and Gold or just Football tickets?

I'm not too sure if they will have more, but I read on the website that the end date is july/june 15?

sweet, thanks a ton deuces! So I can still sign up for Blue and Gold and see if I get the bball tix...if not, fball still comes with it, correct ("2nd choice plan" confused me lol)....thanks, you're awesome :D

2nd choice plan would be... say... Blue or Gold (including bball), then they'd give you your third, which is the one you didn't pick, then finally.. if you completely lucked out, just football.

Wow, this is a little confusing for me. So I guess you can not just purchase the B&G plan straight up for the $149.00? How do you sign up for the lottery from My UCLA? Is there a link? :(

ohh ok. so there's a chance you could win some bball tix in the lottery, under like the blue plan (say 2nd choice), but those are only for certain games, not the whole season?

Do you specify plans A, B, C, when ordering, or if you don't win B&G they just offer you an alternative package?

thanks again!

On a side note to all those coming to the football games this fall. I've been to many a college football game @ "big" schools (mich, asu, wisconsin) and they all have crowds that are 10x as loud/hyped up as we are. Honestly, I see kids sitting in the stands...if you're going to sit during the game don't show up. UCLA has a dead crowd and it sucks because the rose bowl can get LOUD yet (like our basketball games) 80% of the crowd is just there to watch a game. All these other schools go crazy after TD's, you can barely stand up because everybody is jumping all over the place into you, and then students hoist up others for "pushups" depending on the score. That's my one qualm with UCLA sports...great teams, tons of success, yet lame crowds.

^ ditto.
when the most spirited section of the stands is the marching band, you know there's a problem.
we're supposed to be there to help all YOU guys get hyped!!! :)

Yeah LAX I agree with you too, well the link is up there in one of my posts. If you're wanting to get in the spirit or at least, experience it once, you want to try to get on the first bus out of here for football games. Get to the student gate early so you can sit right next to the band (where I usually am, 3rd-7th row behind most of the Den guys). The rest of the student section usually isn't too great, but I think that's a factor of us being in LA and having plenty of other things to do. And DO camp out for basketball games, probably the best experience here when it comes to sports.
