Sports Management?Business? Communications? Psych? Chance me

How is UMD CP's Sports Management major? Would it be easier for an OOS student to get into, especially one with lower GPA but fantastic SAT scores and good ECs. Also,Mainly intrested in Communications or Business/Marketing Major or possibly Psych.

Also,My GPA is mainly low because of a poor freshman year, with A GPA of about 2.8. Since then I have gone straight up.

I'm about a year and a half away from college apps, but my stats then should be something like this:

3.2 UW GPA,
classes:
AP Psych(junior year)
AP Gov(Senior year)
AP English (senior year)
Honors American Lit (sophomore year)
Honors Modern Fiction (Junior Year)
Honors US History II (Junior Year)
Honors Management-business ed. (Junior year)

Sats should be about 2100 total.

EC's:
Summer Camp Counselor for 3 Years
Volunteer at Local Library
Assistant Job at Local Real Estate agency
DECA Junior and Senior Years
HS Rec basketball freshman-senior year

Reccomendations should be good from Guidance Counselor, along with Favorite English and Favorite Math teacher.

Do I have a shot?

Sorry for the double post, But i’d like to add that I will be applying EA for UMD.

seems like itll be tough with that GPA…

If you’re right about the GPA being much higher for soph and jr. year, that will help. I know they like to see “trending upward”. I think you’ll get in, but prob not likely for merit aid…

I don’t know how you can predict your SATs, have you already taken them? Or are you basing that on your PSATs? Look on the College Board web site and you can profile your stats against the UMCP stats and see where you need to improve or what you need to achieve on SATs. Are you in-state or OOS?

Im from NJ. My uncle lives in MD, that probobly doesn’t help though.

I took the SATs in 7th grade, and got 1550 then with no prep. I took the PSATS last year, and again with no prep and no having learned much of the material, I got a 200.
