Hey guys, I got accepted into both UMass's and Syracuse's sports managment programs. I've been going back and forth between the two for weeks now, need to make a decision by May 1st. Which one is better? I know I've seen posts about UMass having a top program but Syracuse looked like it had a great program as well. Any ideas?

People here are gonna tell you not to get a degree in “sports management” and it’s because a degree like that in all likelihood won’t land you the job you’re thinking of, and the extremely limited value of the degree in that you might not even get a job at all. It’s also one of those majors where there’s not a whole lot a college can teach you- the actual “sports management” is done in the field. If it’s really what you want to do, then go for it, but don’t come in with the expectations that it’ll put you on the fast track to being the next GM of the Dallas Cowboys or something.

Also, I haven’t ever heard anything about UMass, but Syracuse ( Newhouse) places well into the sports media industry, so that’s something.
