Sports question

I was wondering if anyone knows a lot about tennis at UVa? I've been playing since I was 6 years old and I just love the sport so much I want to continue playing as much as I can at UVa. I know that their division I team is extremely good, top 10 I think? and preranked #1 this season, so I wont really try to get into that team, but does anyone know how students can play tennis casually? For example the tennis club or the intramural? Or something like that can't remember the names hehe. In Penn State I asked a while ago since their into sports a lot and they say you can take tennis as a credit course. Is this possible in UVa? Or some similar version of it at least? Any info would be great thanks!

The club tennis team is also pretty hard to get onto, but if you're good you can always give it a shot. It's not 'casual' tennis, but obviously if you don't want to do that you can play with friends and people you meet.

Tennis is a 1 credit extracurricular kind of course. It's pass/fail I think, though I might be wrong. You can do beginners/intermediate/advanced or w/e. There used to be a University League Tennis organization that tried to gather people together to play casually, but time commitments have caused them to not be able to keep it functioning. Still, it's UVA- lots of people play tennis and there will be plenty of opportunities to do so, at least in the fall and spring. However, there are few tennis courts and sometimes they're being used by one of the teams. There are also no indoor tennis courts around from what I can tell, so it sucks because you can't really play in the winter time.

There's also something called University League Tennis that is a student run intramural league, I think..

Thanks sv3a and theslammer, yea I saw a picture of the tennis club members and they definitely looked very athletic haha. Well if it is so competitive then I better work my butt off to make it into the club :P Because playing casual isn't really my thing at the moment, I would want some more commitment, well see how it goes :) Thnx again to those who replied
