SPORTS Vs. CLUBS

Well, I already posted this thread in the HS forum, but didn’t have much luck there…

Basically, I like playing tennis, but I’m not that good at it, so I’m going to be in my second year JV this upcoming junior year.

The problem is that my student government advisor told me that since the practices will get in the way of the meetings after school, I either drop tennis or I lose the officer position I’ve earned this year. Period.

I only started tennis last year as a sophomore. I’ve done stugo since my freshmen year, and would really like to keep that position, but I don’t want to come off as being not committed to the sport either. Doing tennis would be great, but it not only conflicts with my stugo stuff, but cuts me off from other clubs during the season as well.

I would appreciated ANY kid of feedback. Thanks.

Okay, unless your school is nationally reconized for tennis, then JV will not look that good in the first. If you have a leadership role, I would stick with that, but you can't just sit on your butt. Many LACs now ask, if you're a class president, to writing down what you did.

I would suggest, however, that you pick up some sport or recreation as an alternative for the year. Does your school have ultimate?
