I don't know if this is the right place to post this but here goes...

How do colleges view athletics on resumes if you're not going there for athletics? How much importance do they place on them compared to school clubs, internships, jobs? (since it's fairly reasonable to say that sports generally take more time commitment than other ECs)

Personally, I will have played football 4 years (league titles, captain)
Soccer 4 years (all four years varsity)
Track and Field 3 years

A Varsity Sport for 4 years looks very impressive. It shows dedication and what not. And I see that you were also Captain of the Football team and you led your team to a League Title as well? Wow.

Looks great for you, colleges do view sports in a decently high regard. I think they are more important than internships/jobs.

okay thanks for the reply. I enjoy playing sports although not planning to play in college, and they aren’t to build resumes and whatnot. I was just curious since I came across many acceptance/rejection threads on this site and it was hard to find people with athletic EC’s.
