Does anybody know what steps to take when contacting coaches (for Andover and Exeter) ? (if you do not get to visit the campuses)

I would consider asking the admissions office or you could check online on their faculty directory pages:)

here i have an email of mine which i censored some where ill findit

Here’s a link to a form you should fill out for Exeter:
http://www.exeter.edu/athletics/3165_3227.aspx
I know at least for exeter you shouldn’t expect them to reply until after march 10th. They apparently have really strict rules bout contact and stuff. They’ll read it though and whatever you say will be a factor in your admission decision.

you should send something like this to the coaches of the sports that you play it is a little late to a recruited athlete but it could help you in the admissions process.
Jyun212 has a lot of threads on this topic i recommend you search his name on the forum the threads are helpful.

Mr. ********,

It great to hear from you, I play both on the ***** state ODP team and the ODP national pool as well as playing with my club team at a very high and competitive level we are currently ranked 11th in region * and in the top 50 nationally I start on the team and play attacking and holding mid field and I can play on the out on the left flank if necessary. I am also the only random grade on the team. I would like to know about the possibility of continuing to play club ball while at **. I know that has a relationship with ******* a very prestigous club with an **** academy francise that is why I would be so interested in your school and your program. I have poked aorund the website I really enjoyed my tour and felt really comfortable around campus. Also I was extremely impressed with your facilities. I feel that ***is what I am looking in a school academically and with its great blank sport pedigree. I can excel at both blank sport and academics at and finish out my final two years of high school with what I want.
All the best,

Really? I was planning on just signing up for sports on the spot if I got accepted. What if you want to try something new and you’re not especially skilled? Is that discouraged?

^^I think the OP is talking about being on a V or JV team, which would require at minimum a tryout and, for many V sports, advance recruiting.

How/when do you tryout for sports @ school? do you have to sign up before hand? What if you don’t make it?

Depends on the sport (and the school)…At bigger schools, many varsity athletes have been recruited or talked about before they try out…However, yes, at my school, you have to put your name on a list of what you believe your winter commitment is going to be. If you get cut, you will end up in a different sport or some club activity (aka dance)

At exeter if you’re coming as a prep and you don’t make it they put you into the spaz program.

Rad…Depends on the sport. For the main Varsity sports at NMH, for example, most of the kids are identified in advance and there is a generally a pre-season practice to which identified athletes are invited. There is also a general try-out, and this is pretty much used to see who will be on the JV team. Many sports also have a thirds team which is usually freshman and sophomores. JV tends to be sophomore, junior, and seniors and V is usually upperclassmen and PG’s with an occasional recruited underclassmen or two.

uhmm regarding the question on tryouts… it depends on ur coach. i have been invited to the preseason of the schools i applied. (again if admitted) so it erally depends on ur coach

what about girls soccer? particularly at NMH, and Taft.

nmh girls soccer is not good the regularly lose to class b schools

taft soccer made the tournament this year for soccer they are a lot better than nmh

loomis and andover have the best girls team by far

well thats good for me then in terms of getting on
exeter girls’ soccer isn’t to hot either, but they’re better than last year.
