I like Emory biz school, but i don't like how the fact that ppl have to apply to get into biz school for junior yr. Has anyone had an experience getting admitted into biz program in junior yr? Is it really competitive to get in? Or do u just have to maintain like, i don't know, 3.5 GPA?

at all the emory sessions or so I've been to, they just say that you ought to go over and express some interest (talk to a professor, etc.) and maintain good grades (maybe above 3.0? but 3.5 works too) and you're in. it doesn't seem to be super competitive, but it's not exactly a shoo-in either, say if you decide you want to apply the day before the deadline.

oook
I'm sure that it would still be a challenge to be selected into biz program since it's Emory.

Goizueta philosophy emphasizes liberal arts background in conjunction with the business degree....Not for everyone, but if that's a philosophy you agree with, it's one of the most unique in the country....In addition, it offers those who may not be sure they definitely want business the opportunity in junior year.....The Board of Trustees explored a 4 year degree a couple of years back and decided to keep the structure as is....

I've heard that more than 75% of those who apply to the business school get in. I don't think it's that difficult.

The thing about the B school that you have to remember is that all the classes are graded on a curve. And they expect at least Bs, generally, on the prereqs for admission. By the way, 20% of students receive Cs or below in core classes. So many people don't bother applying because they know they won't be accepted.

Generally though, if you're disposed to being a Business major and enjoy the classes and do well, you shouldn't have a problem.

I'm not in the B school by the way, this is just what my friends say.

My roommate didn't get into the b-school he had a 3.0 GPA and didn't do well in the prerequisites (Financial Accounting & Decision Science). If you apply yourself, you will have no problem getting in the business school....you don't have to network with professors just apply, have a solid gpa, and a professor recommendation and you will get in. I actually took both financial accoutning and Dsci my 2nd semester of my sophomore year and still got into the school i had a GPA of about 3.7....Just be smart about what classes you take your first 4 semesters at Emory College, build up a solid GPA

i really love Goizueta's 2 year liberal arts emphasis biz degree...

i wrote about it in my essay and am wondering if that is too common of a topic to show genuine interest in Emory...do a lot of people write about it thus making it sound generic?
