Are there any Spring 2006 Admits out there? I got admitted for the spring semester and I’m not sure if I’m going to take it. I’m wondering if it would be harder to adjust to campus life coming in so late . . .?

Hey, I also got Spring 06. I'm wondering what the freshman fall stay thing is like, and whether it's worth it. From what I understand, you take classes and get credit, but they don't show up on your transcript. Anyone know if that's bad for the record, or if it takes a while to catch up? At this point, I'm down to choosing between that and fall at UCLA.

yeah i got that and fall at ucla. from what i read, you do get credit for the fall extension thing but you don't get it part of your gpa. people usually get dorms and you get smaller classes for your ge requirements

when does the spring semester start?

Hey, I got Spring '06 as well. That kinda bummed me out, but oh well. :o At least I got in!

It might be kinda nice to just have a really long extended vacation.

spring semester starts january...REALLY stupid, *** happened? (i got in SPRING) if you got accepted to spring, you're no better than the fall aceptees

So is there any way we can appeal to get accepted for Fall?

yeah i got in for spring but i rather take up pomona or ucla for fall..
first semester/quarter freshman year is pretty essential. plus i dont wanna stick around for that much longer. i'd feel like everyone has left and i didn't yet.
plus i think i was leaning towards so cal anyways..
woah that's weird to think i won't be living around here anymore...

damn cal.

no you cant appeal, but if spots open up theyll upgrade you to fall. dont worry, do the extension thing, i hear pple prefer that cuz you live in dorms but its more relaxing and you get general eds out of the way

i got in spring too..what a way to confuse me..does anyone think that if some peopel don't accept berkeley (i'm sure it happens:)) they'll bump people like us up to fall? anyone know people this has happened to before?

Initially i was pretty wary of the whole thing too cause i got in for the spring as well, and while it may just be euphemistic BS that the Cal site is putting out, at second glance it looks like a good deal. Youre not guaranteed but you will most likely get to live on campus. You can get GE's done and recieve credit for them without them counting towards your GPA. This may be a curse or a blessing, but i should think that having an entire semester to acclimate ones' self to an entirely new environment would be nice. Classes are way smaller (600 student cap on whole program). You can still test out of some classes with the good ol' AP's if you dont want to take a full load. BTW, its entirely possible to finish college in 4 years regardless of starting late, it means you dont slack off, and taking the extra semester off is the only reason youd have extra work to catch up on.

would they care about your senior GPA i mean like it's lower than soph and jr, would they be like it's too low and you are out

soloboe: theres a UC contract which includes maintaining 3.0 unweighted GPA for ur senior yr, and much of other minor crap.

I'm wondering, did anyone in Engineering get accepted for spring 2006, or is this just a Letter and Science thing?

does gettin admitted for spring mean that you're their second choices..like they dont really want you...and does it only happen with the college of letter n science?

Yeah I got the spring admit too. I was just so happy to get in out of state that I didn't mind one way or the other. : )

yeah, ppl in engineering get the spring thing as well cuz i m doing EECS and i got accepted for 2006. AWW

btw so as long as i maintain a 3.0 they won't be like it's too low right?>
