Spring 2008 Schedules:

I'm not completely sure - what year/major are you?

I took 30AL along with Physics 1C, 4BL, and Chem 30B. It was pretty rough, and took my whole allotment of time. (The schedule, was rough, 30AL is definitely workable although it is twice a week). I'm not sure how Ling 1 will be - 30AL and 30B help out with each other (although 30AL may help out more with 30B than not.) My gut feeling (take that for what it is), is that you will be fine taking it in Fall. Note that, for this current year, they didn't offer 30AL for winter.

Ok, how does this schedule look?

Chem 30B
Math 33B
Classics 30
Comp Lit 2DW

lol deuces, 4bl and 30al

Yeah, I can't believe I'm still alive after that last quarter. My life was in shambles.

My life *s in shambles.

And how is that different from any other day? :)

Physics 1B
Math 32A
CS 31
English Comp 3

Overkill? =/

Math 33A
CS 31
Physics 1B
Chem 30A

How does this sound?

Both of those schedules look tough. CS does not mix well with other classes regardless.

math 33a
physics 1b
cs 31
physics 4al or MAE 101

^

Those are pretty standard schedules for a CS/CSE major (except replace CS31 with CS33) so it's not overkill [for a student of another major].

Okay schedule in my opinion. English Comp 3 and Math 32A are easy.
Physics 1B is easy compared to courses you will take. Probably 3 hours studying per week + HW.

So if you know what's going on in CS 31, then you have an easy quarter.

Minus CS 31, you workload (doing homework and studying) should be about the same amount of time as your current schedule (if you're taking the 101 path).

You might spend an additional 1-10 hours per week on CS 31, depending on how well you pick up C++. Good luck :D

Aye. for me CS was the class to tuck away into the closet until the entire class schedule was clean. I'm only taking three classes this quarter - i'm forgetting how it is to do 4.

So here it is... the schedule for my last quarter at UCLA:

CHEM 159A
CHEM 159B
MIMG 101
EEB 100

Anyone have SONG, B or DUKE, W.D for Math 32A before? Bruinwalk has info on DUKE but not on SONG =/

I had Bailyn Song last fall for 32B. It was extremely difficult to understand his accent. If you can fully understand him, you've mastered the art of listening. His writings were too small to be seen from more than 3 rows away. I remember for the first midterm, the average was around 75-80%.

i... won't know my schedule until i see which, if any, education class i get.

if all goes well, my ideal schedule has 2 monday finals, and 2 no-final projects.

if it doesn't, i may end up with 3 monday finals and a non-final project.

i hate not being an education minor yet >.<

Any insight on BOISVERT, WEISBART, or DE SAPIO for Math 32B would be highly appreciated :]

boisvert is pretty good compared to some profs i've had before seems pretty fair but kinda dry... hwk graded on completion!!! oh well. you have the solns manual. tests partial credit!!! (unlike... biskup or oberlin)

otherwise dont know much, 8am is too early for me to show up

Hey Deuces, just wondering how much time are you putting into CS per week?

For Math 33A, there is a lecture 3 and 4. The professors for both those lectures have not been posted. Any idea on when they will?
