wow sorry i meant 2011.

COme on guys!! any feedback would be good at this point, even if it is brutally honest! haha

I usually like to have a little bit of knowledge on a subject before I make a post but I’ll try and help get the ball rolling for you. I’ve never really looked into transfers, but how many credits do you have that would count towards the degree program you’re applying for? catalogs.tamu.edu will have the degree programs for different majors if you are unsure.

Transferring is a crap shoot. Each dept transfer depends on space available. Your gpa from a cc isn’t that strong, but is above the requrement.
I have not looked at a transfer app - is there a place to put things like community service, interest in A&M - such as official visits, games, etc? Have you shown interest in A&M by attending any A&M events?

I am a transfer student at A&M. I got in Fall 2010, and here is what I’ll tell you.

You need the strongest GPA you can get. And even your strongest may not be enough. I did one year at a community college and had a 4.0 GPA on 37 hours. I wanted to get into Business but didn’t have the credits necessary to get into Mays’ so I am in General Studies.

During my New Student Conference in General Studies there were about 90 of us that had gotten in for Fall 2010. They picked the best GPA and worked down basically. I want to say the lowest GPA that had been accepted was at least 3.3 if not a 3.4. I don’t remember exactly.

The standards might be different in the Spring, but I don’t know for sure. If you were solely depending on your GPA I would say you would not get in. But as klparker mentioned community service, an interest in A&M, or attending events would help.

Well i actually had around 300 service hours, because i volunteered abroad in ecuador this summer. My dad went to A&M and both of my sisters so I have been to more games than I can count, however that wasnt asked on the application. Do you think it would be different for the spring? I have 32 transferring hours, and most of them are just core curriculum classes. I appreciate the feed back guys, thanks!
