I've been partaking in threads regarding admissions decisions from LMU... but I just need to know if anyone who applied for Spring 2010 received their decisions yet? It's almost a month since I have submitted my application. I'm starting to get worried, and Spring semester starts soon....

i'm so scared.

Yes I received mine in the mid to late November. I would call the school on Monday and ask them directly. Thats what I did.

Thanks yea I tried that several weeks back and I just received a letter from the admissions committee today. It says they need transcripts from one more institution I had attended and then they will complete their evaluation. They said a preliminary review was made though. At least this isn’t a flat out no?

I’m still waiting…So nervous, because I turned down two other schools to hear the results from LMU. I applied OCT 5, I called the last week of November, was told a decision would be made during the first week of December. Called last week, still no decision, still waiting, and still nervous.

same here. my stomach is in knots. i need to know!!! i’m dying. hahaha well not literally hang in there. i’m trying but the holidays & stress just waiting is pretty inteense!

Wow!!! Called today, still no decision made. Classes start the 14th of Jan. LMU staff is on vacation from the 23rd of Dec. to the 4th of Jan. So basically, if our decisions are not sent by today, not only are we going to have to wait another 2 weeks just to hear back, but if we are accepted, we will have about a week to make a decision, find housing in LA, and put down the cash for tuition…I’ll say it again, WOW!

I think I’m going to call back and explain that to the person I just talked to.

Called back, after a little investigation, I got a more pleasing answer.

Apparently, there is a meeting today with the Dean of the Film & Television Department (There is also a meeting with the business school dean), and they are going to decide exactly how many spaces they have left. They will figure out things like “how many students already in the program will be continuing, how many will graduate, and how many are not continuing.” According to the person I spoke with, all decisions will be sent out by tomorrow, but I’m really not going to count on it.

We shall see though.

so when can we expect it…does mail get delivered on xmas eve?! gosh! i hope you get in! well, i hope i get in as well… ahhaha best of luck to us all. and i got my transcripts in and they were overnighted and delivered today!

another day another dollar.
i am praying the mail man brings me my decision letter today … sigh

I’m thinking there coming today. In my case at least, because that would give three days for the mail to travel from LA to Norcal.

Welp, didn’t get in. To be honest, I’m not to bumbed. As far as film goes, my films represent everything which is not LMU. Probably wasn’t a good idea to begin with.

that’s horrible. i’m so sorry you didn’t get in… i still didn’t get my letter yet! can you believe it? i’m assuming i didn’t get in either at this point… so i’m really considering packing and booking my flight to boston for northeastern.

and in addition to my last post, it’s just unfair how we were left hanging on small scrapes of hope. i’m sure you will excel at any school you choose to attend… and if your film represents all which is not loyola, most likely you wouldn’t be happy there. i wish you the best of creative growth and for you to attend a school where you will be able to flourish as an individual and a successful filmmaker.
