HI, i posted a much more descriptive thread less then an hour ago, but i guess its to long for people to bother or they just don't care cus no one even read it. so let me just crack it in a nutshell.

I go to bocconi university one of the most prestigious universities in all of europe. Ranked #1 business school in Italy and the wall street journal ranked the grad school #17 in the world. I have a lot of EC, good essays and am internation and was in 4 IB classes in my high school in new york.

I wanna go to fordham University in ny. do i have a chance with a first look?

high school GPA : 81.2%
university GPA : 22.2/30 = 74

SAT: reading 540, math 510, writing 620

I think it would be impossible. hoping someone would tell me otherwise.

Hi. Fordham is a good school, but if you are going to the 17th best in the world, what are you doing??? hahaha. I mean it is in Italy, but still. Anyways, I don’t think your chances are that strong. 74 GPA isn’t going to wow the Admissions folks at Fordham, and ur SAT scores are a little sub-par for them. Sorry for being pessimistic, but I gave u my humble opinion.

i transferred last spring from an international university too… my grades were better but def not a prestigious university… from the people ive met that have transferred id say if you have good ECs and essays your in… good luck!

My US diploma wasn’t accepted at Bocconi (my dream school)-- it just didn’t match the Maturita even though I have a higher SAT and GPA than you. How ironic that I would have given anything to have made it into Bocconi! It goes to show you it’s not always greener on the other side, right?

As I said in a previous post, you should be proud of yourself for making it into Bocconi. It is indeed a world-renowned school. I understand your grades there weren’t that great. Fordham will probably be interested and concerned at your marginal performance at Bocconi. Had you had an excellent academic year, I would venture to say that Fordham would be glad to take you back. But unfortunately, I think Fordham now has both your HS performance and your year at Bocconi to consider.

Have you looked into other schools other than Fordham?

I wish you the very best! I’m very sorry things didn’t work out for you in Milan. Stay positive.
