Hey so I was admitted to Maryland for the Spring of 2011. My dad called the university and they said I could go in the fall as long as I live off campus for a semester. Is anyone else doing this? or is it better to just go in the spring. I don't really want to start college 6 months later than all my friends. Also, I have not been able to reach the office of Admission in the last few days and I was just wondering is a switch to fall semester easy to do? (can i enroll and get it switched later?)

There should be something in your acceptance letter about Freshmen Connection. Basically, you have to live off campus and you can take a few core classes that start after 4pm. Honestly this isn’t such a bad way to go, especially of your undecided because you would be in stall pattern until you declared anyways. And guaranteed classes after 4 pm? That’s a sweet deal, it frees up your whole day to relax or study beforehand.

How did you manage to get into fall? I got into spring too and I tried to do the same thing by going to the undergrad office (asking for fall admission) and they basically told me straight up No without bothering to ask me what my name was.
