Applying as a transfer from St. Petersburg Community College for the Fall of 2012

How many extra curricular activities do I need?
I moved to FL from NH alone and right out of HS. Now I am trying to transfer into the Advertising program at UF and I’m worried already that I wont be accepted due to the fact that I don’t have many EC besides work. I’ve worked my butt off to get where I am. Thoughts/suggestions anyone?

You’ll be fine… EC’s aren’t that important for transfers. Just keep your GPA up. Also be ready for a long wait, it’s very likely you won’t get a decision for a good 5+ months.

floridagirl I have! it’s extremely difficult! -__- I feel like I almost need to go up to look at them before I lease one, but ive been so busy! I want to go up during preview
but I am afraid that many apartments will be full by then. what are u guys planning to do?

The moment I get accepted I’ll go up there and check them out. I don’t want to go now just in case I’m not accepted…I don’t want to get my hopes up too much.

xo, if you goto the fall 2011 transfer thread, on pg. 39 a girl wrote a really good review of apartments she visited. She drove by at night too to see how safe they were.

I’m also transferring in the spring. Haven’t went to any apartments but I’ve searched around online. Let me know you if find out anything good/or anything about transfer preview :)

There’s some good advice in there on areas to look to besides the one’s she visited. Just all depends what you’re looking for (how close to campus, how much $)

Congrats BlueDiamond!! Still no word here but I have been accepted to USF with a scholarship, I may have to go there just because it’s better financially for me.

hey Floridagirl- I also didn’t get in for spring. On the basis of “not competitive with the applicant pool”.
Again with a 3.77 and A.A. already awarded, as well as finishing up the last couple transfer required courses this term. CALS must be very competitive…
Wish you the best also :)
