William and Mary Admissions,
I'm interested in transferring to William and Mary from my current four-year college and just have a couple of questions:

Do the following courses comply with W&M competitiveness?:
Comparative Politics: A-
Global Studies: A
Science without Boarders: B+
General Wellness/Health: A-
College Intro (Pass/Fail): P

I plan on sending my mid-semester report for second semester as I understand admissions prefers applicants applying for the fall since there is more college-level work to examine.

Additionally, does attending one of the "prospective transfer days" have any weight on acceptance? Essentially, will the admissions committee consider the applicant's level of interest?

Comparative Politics will certainly transfer. Global studies might also. While health might transfer it’s not what we consider an academic course. Hard to say on science without boarders. By the name alone it’s tough to get a sense of what that course covers. The College Intro course won’t transfer but we understand that’s required at a lot of schools.

Since you were fairly social science oriented first semester we’d recommend some English, some math and/or some history this semester to round out your schedule and we’d recommend 15 credits as we’re guessing last semester was only 12 credits.

Whether or not you attended a prospective transfer day is noted when you apply. To say it’s a plus factor is likely overstating it but it is certainly something that’s noted.

Good luck!
