Spring 2014 Transfer Applicant Thread

Hey guys! Only one more week until they hopefully start rolling out decisions! Is anyone else applying for this spring? I'm interested to hear y'alls stats and find out who makes it in.

I have a 3.9 overall, 4.0 math/science, with 41 hours completed. I'm applying for BME, and I was waitlisted for fall of 2013 and then denied. I'm hoping to scrape my way in for spring, but my backup is transferring in next fall with RETP.

What about you guys?

I was informed by my Tech counselor that, most likely, decisions will not start rolling out until mid-october. Mostly because of freshmen applications.

Yeah that’s what I figured, since that’s what it seems like they did last year. I’m in the process of trying to get them to switch my application from BME to Mechanical now, I feel pretty annoying trying to get them to change it at the last minute, but I don’t have much choice since they won’t let us change it at all once we get to tech.

It seems like they’d want to get our stuff out of the way before the oct. 15th freshman deadline but I guess they have a different method.

Hello! I’m applying for Business and have a 4.0 with 57 credit hours.

And amberla, that’s really surprising that you got waitlisted with a 3.9 GPA!

@MarvinthePA you should for sure be in! You’ll probably find out a little sooner than us too, they tend to release engineering decisions a little later than the others from what I’ve seen. With a 4.0 you should be golden for business though.

I know I was pretty surprised too, they said it was because I didn’t have as many hours in more challenging math/science courses as the other people they accepted. But I’m definitely glad I didn’t get in now that I’ve decided to change my major!

Thanks amberla! I’m really hoping I get in. And while it sucks that you didn’t get in for the Fall, I guess it worked out because of your change of major. Haha. Hope everything works out for you this Spring!

Hey guys, was wondering when someone might start one of these for spring.

I have a 3.9 overall and 4.2 math/science (current school gives 4.3 for A+). Trying to transfer in for MSE. Goodluck to you guys.

So the wait begins…

Yeah just checked the status no update…How long do you think until they start posting decisions. I applied on the first day.

We should see the majority of decisions rolling out around mid-October. Non-engineering majors will probably see a decision slightly sooner. This is my guess according to past Spring decisions, but who knows. If your decision is not posted by lunch on any given day, I would just wait and check back the next morning and so on.

Yellowjacket1 and chemicalstudent (may be obvious here), may I ask what major you guys supplied for?

Applied* (typing on the phone :/)

Yeah what are yalls gpas and majors? Also slimboyrice, I don’t think they look at the weighted gpa they will only take into consideration the unweighted gpa without plus/minus scale, my current school does plus/minus too.

3.46 Cumulative GPA, 3.97 Math and Science GPA. 72 Transferable hours, but only 69 count towards my degree. Tag from GPC, applied for Chemical Engineering.

@amberla, that is honestly good to hear.

@chemicalstudent, I suspected you to apply for chemical XD. That’s it’s without a doubt, not an easy major. Hope you get in.

Has anyone received a decision yet? Even though it’s still just the second day. I want to think that they will start rolling out non-engineering applicants first, and then after, engineering applicants.

Sadly not. File still under review.

Accepted :D

Really??!! That was fast!!! How many hours do you have completed? When did you apply?

@slimboyrice:- congrats! When did you apply?? What engineering?
