Okay guys by the look of it . We all we find out before or exactly on December 1st ! This is what I was emailed a minute ago .

"Hello Rikki,

Thank you for your email.

If you applied before the deadline for Spring 2015 by October 1st and we have received all supplemental materials by November 1st. You may expect a decision on or before December 1st."

Don’t worry lol I have to keep telling myself this !

@xokikixo absolutely nothing. Your federal and state financial aid is roughly the same no matter which school you attend because it depends on your household income. None of that money will go to FIT if you don’t go there. You can put as many colleges on FAFSA that it will allow and the only one who will receive the money is the one you enroll in. You have to add all schools you apply to/consider to your FAFSA application in order to get an accurate representation of how much it will cost you to go there. That is why FIT needs it. Nothing bad will happen by adding it to it if you don’t get in or if you choose not to enroll for whatever reason. @Madzzz that’s true! But it’s nice to put some pretty faces to the usernames lol. It makes it feel like you’re talking to actual people and not robots.
And everyone, we will be hearing soon. I’m almost positive.

@danycam thankkks! instead of asking ma aunt to send the documents by mail, I asked her to scan the bank document. In the form it says that the bank can seal and sign, OR that you can just get a separate bank statement. Do you think its ok to leave the seal and signature part blank then??

@limjuliana I think a separate bank statement is enough .No need for sign and seal in the form. But of course, fill in the bank’s name, official’s name and amount of money as specified in the statement

I call bullsh-t on that Dec 15 thing. Everyone hears me out. If you don’t get your answer by Dec 1, call them right away. Swing by admission office and talk to a counselor in person if you can. (I heard they’re way nicer in person) My friend from LA applied to FIT in fall and got rejected, but got absolutely nothing in the mail. 2 weeks after the deadline, he asked them in email. They replied with an attached rejection letter. It’s hella painful.

So, I applied for Spring 2015 as well, and I just received my denial letter. I applied early August and had all my files in by September, so you all should receive decisions soon. I applied for AMC.

@iamjenn Thank you – I believe there will be!

@emart95 To be honest, I can’t say I was too surprised. GPA was below 3.0 (2.86) and my grades from last semester were sub-par to say the least. I’m considering taking classes at community college and perhaps applying again? I don’t know, but I’m not letting it discourage me.

@astuteoptimist1 Okay. So we’ll all have to keep our eyes peeled (URGH, SCARY) today and this upcoming week. Of course I’m out of town right now so I have no clue if I got any mail. And if you’re able to do the community college thing, it couldn’t hurt. Even though FIT is a community college as well, they don’t let in a lot of people so definitely don’t let it deter you from following your dream. My best advice would be to just work really hard in community college and reapply when you’re ready. They would love to see improvement and if you show them that, your chances are definitely raised, even if it’s not the biggest improvement possible. Just keep your head up. (And I’ll need this talk from you guys when I get a rejection letter).

I also applied for Spring 2015, I am soooo anxious, I just want to get my letter now. I’m from Sweden, so I’m quite scared that my mail will be lost on the way…However, it feels good to connect with other people who are in the same boat as me :)

@emart95 LOL! I’m sure you’ll be fine. And CC is an option I am going to look into. I’ve heard of students who weren’t initially accepted on their first try, but they took a few classes later, did well and eventually got in, so I see what you’re saying. What program did you apply to?

@astuteoptimist1 I applied for AMC also. But that’s a good idea. At least you have that plan. And @Myaa90 you should hear by email? That’s what the other international students have been saying. Check your inbox and your spam mail. Also check your FIT email. If you can’t log in, contact the FIT help desk by email. They will help you access the account.

@Madzzz, don’t jump to conclusions. There are many factors that revolve around the decision. It could be something as stupid as how the counselors are feeling that day. Just try to stay positive. Maybe think about what you will do in case you don’t get in. It’s a possibility no matter who you are.

@Madzzz It’s tough to predict whether someone will get in based of GPA alone. I do think that is the number one factor (at least if one applies to a business major), but you just never know. It may depend on if you’re applying to the day or night program, your grade trends, and your essay. Don’t count yourself out yet!
