@emart95 If you can get all of your gen eds out of the way ASAP that would be really beneficial! It does not matter if you take either those or your major classes, but you need at least twelve credits to be considered full time which I don’t think you would have a problem for!

Congrats @iamjenn! What will you study? Very excited for you!

@artsyfartsy96 I will take at least 15 credits, possibly 18, with a lot of major related courses. I have some gen eds out of the way but because they’re both required, I will get some out of the way now and then make up for the ones I haven’t taken yet. And do you know anyone who has taken independent math study to meet arithmetic proficiency? I’m supposed to do that according to my degree audit online and that scares me! I’d have to do it on the computer on my own time on top of classes and work!

What class do we need to register? I need to take placement test. Do we need to contact advisor before registering classes? Or should we just register classes on our required schedules on the website?

Does anyone finish registering classes? Most of classed that fit in my classes and i would like to take are already full!! Also there is no capacity for the waitlist. How you guys figured out?

Hi guys, I’m registering for classes and I have no idea what classes I should take. On the website says the minimum of credit we can get is 12. But are these credits separated from the credits we can from general studies (math eng, etc.? )

@limjuliana You’re a FD major right? Check your required classes on the website <a href=“Fashion Design AAS Degree Program < Fashion Institute of Technology”>http://catalog.fitnyc.edu/undergraduate/majors/twoyearassociatedegreeprograms/fashiondesignmajor/ You’re an international student like me so I suppose you have to take the placement test. You can only register for math +english classes (G1 and G2 in your case) after taking the test. So try registering for major area and major related classes (with no prerequisites) of semester 1 as well as gen ed classes (besides Math + Eng) of semester 2,3…etc. They’ll count towards your degree and that way you can reach 12 credits in case your major classes are already full. If you wanna register for Math + Eng this semester, you can. But you’ll be charged with late registration fees.
Same advice goes for @lamjenn. You should double check cos I just take a look at class search and many FM classes (FM 116, 117 and 114) are still open. If you guys have further questions, schedule an apointment witn an advisor http://www.fitnyc.edu/13575.asp
Good luck everyone! I have my visa approval today! See y’ll at orientation!

@danycam Thank you so much! I registered for all of my classes except for english. I was able to register for math (mathematical ideas), and I don’t even know how… try registering for it, as well ! maybe you can register for this one even without doing the placement test. I sent them my AP english score yesterday, and I really hope they get them before all of the classes get full, cuz i don’t want to pay the extra feeeeeee !

@limjuliana I’m an AMC major so I definitely have to take math placement test first. The score is the prerequisite to get into any math class of business majors. I now have 17 credits so I’ll wait til next semester to register for eng+math cos I don’t wanna pay extra fee either. I think if your AP score qualified you don’t even need to take the eng placement test! Hope that’s the case, fingers crossed for ya!

Hi everyone. I’m actually currently studying in another university and im going to finish my bachelor’s and end up applying to fashion design at FIT next year. I’m currently working on my portfolio as well as practicing my drawing. Is there any advice you could give me from your overall application experience? @limjuliana and anyone else who applied as fashion design
