But Canada isn’t international technically . Like all it takes is to send it on the plane like they do all mail from out of state . We could have received ours to !!

But we have 12 days guys so no one worry . Just check your Mail everyday and remain positive , what else can you do ?

THis waiting will be the death of me

Same . I wish they had early notifications like they did for Fall students .

For some reason my mail never was delivered today - one of life’s cruel jokes

Guys, easy there. Anyone getting their big envelope beforehand must be an international student. We get our packet first coz it takes the school 10 working days to send out necessary forms required in visa application (Canadian included, they don’t need a visa but have to pay student visitor fee) The tuition deposit deadline for US students might be different from ours.
@limjuliana If you wanna cook for yourself, def pick a suite and apply asap coz suites are limited. I think I’d go for Nagler. It has room dividers and you’ll get your own closet. Did you send your ISFS? They gonna take 10 days to process it and 5 more days for DHL shipment to my country. All that crap waiting, paperwork and more waiting :-S It burns!

@danycam that makes a lot of sense, it didn’t cross my mind all the paperwork you have to sift through to even get to the states. But on the bright side, one form filled out is one step closer to the FIT campus

Yeah, it’s all worth it And if you guys are wondering, the MyFIT page changes from Applicant to Student if you get in, but only after you pay tuition deposit. I don’t understand why FIT still sticks to snail mail policy when it comes to decision letters. It butchers everyone. School, it’s 2014, dammit.

I am also international students… Do i have enough time for process everything if i got admitted?

Also, some others got admission yesterday for advertising and communication. Getting more worried…

@danycam However, it’s got to feel pretty awesome to hold that acceptance letter in your hands. I almost think it might be worth the excruciating wait.

@Iamjenn have you checked your email? It kind of sounds like international students get a heads up via email of their decision. I’m sure you’ll be hearing shortly

@Madzzz I checked my email every moment… Every time my phone rang, i checked it but just from fashion stores haha… Too tired to wait and early decisions from others make me more nervous.

@danycam I got my packet 2 days ago, and I was trying to fax my tuition deposit form for the last 2 days, so I didn’t have time to complete my ISFS yet. Plus, I need some documents from Korea to go with ISFS, so I might just need to wait a little.
And they say that we have to apply for housing after we pay our tuition deposit, so I think I need to wait for them to process the deposit. I know suites are limited, but since, like you said, the international students are the only ones who got the packet yet, I think I should be able to get it. I hope so! I feel like these papers are giving me more headache than the application itself. :S

@lamjenn We got ■■■■ ton of paperwork to do, pal. And you wanna get on your visa stuff before Christmas. Everything gets hectic around the last 2 months of the year, US embassies and visa interviews included. Tuition deposit for international students is due on 26 so I suggest calling them. That being said, the shipping time of your decision letter depends on your location. If you get in, they’ll send your big packet with DHL (so not super fast like FedEx or UPS but at least it doesn’t get lost) Find out your estimated delivery time here http://dct.dhl.com/input.jsp?langId=en It’s pretty close. Mine was sent out by FIT on Nov 14, I got it the same day as limjuliana . I’m not sure it applies to everyone but 2 days before my package arrived, DHL sent me a tracking link. However, if it’s a rejection letter, they’ll send it by snail mail. (Yes, they are heartless mofos, FYI ). So my fellow international peeps out there, call the school if you don’t get anything in your mail by the end of the week.

@Madzzz Yeah, we clearly can’t have it all Waiting sucks but the payoff pukes rainbows and puppies and free Netflix. My bet is there are more slots for AMC majors this spring tho. In Fall 2014, AMC was still open for application even after they sent out final decision letters. I guess their AMC classes are not full yet.

@limjuliana Girl, housing can wait but ISFS is matter of survival. It’s visa - related so no joke! Complete and submit your ISFS immediately after they process your tuition deposit. If your MyFIT page changes to Student, they received your deposit form and you can start applying for housing

@danycam That’s what I like to hear! Both the rainbows and puppies as well as the AMC slots being open. That’s where I’m shooting for. I hope they will have plenty of suite options available; not too excited about potentially sharing a bathroom with 30 other girls. (Yikes)

@Madzzz sharing a bathroom isn’t as bad as it seems. I had to at my other school. But we didn’t have literally one per floor or even two per floor. There were way more. If you get stuck having to share common areas (lounges, kitchens, bathrooms, etc) just remember that if it gets disgusting, it’s the fault of whoever is using it. They don’t have any maid service unfortunately and hired custodians can only do so much. If people are being disgusting, tell them!

@Madzzz Exactly. And do you know when fire drills in FIT take place every month? (Coz some lovely little daisies burn their popcorn inside the dorm) Duh! When you’re showering in that communal bathroom

@danycam That sound about right haha.

@emart95 I guess I’ve taken sharing a bathroom with one other person for granted. But it’s good to know that it’s not as bad as I think it is.

Is everyone else hoping that if they get in they’ll score a suite? I’ve only been to community college so on one side I wouldn’t mind seeing what dorm life is like, but I’ve lived in an apartment for a while so I’m used to having more of my own space and cooking for myself.

@Madzzz I don’t really care if I end up in a suite or not. I’ll just be glad I got in and can get housing. I will probably get a meal plan for this semester. If it’s really awful and I have a job, then I’ll skip it after that. I just don’t have a guarantee of a job so I would feel better knowing I can still get food even if it’s crappy. I would like a double apartment or I would consider a double in Nagler Hall for privacy reasons but would not be thrilled about sharing the bathroom and having my boyfriend use the all-girls bathroom lol. I would be down for a suite but the idea of getting placed in an already existing suite scares me because a friend of mine ended up like that at my other school and she hated it because the other girls were cliquey and upperclassmen and she just wasn’t comfortable.

I will be commuting from my house in NJ. I won’t be dorming.
